Learning design principle is simple yet complex, as a civil engineer my love for mathematics is never ending, my fellow architect friends hate mathematics, But i believe both design principle and basic mathematics are two side of a coin, May be they have not yet realized.

Common people has a false statement that if someone is good in hand sketching will outshine in architecture profession,Yes hand sketching compliments if you loves architecture.sketching good means you have a good hand brain coordination,which can be developed by any one with regular practice.

To run an architectural firm one should learn to do business and learn the basics of profit making and as a designer you need to keep up with your creativity.

So one cannot only be left or right brained, you have to master brain gym and fast toggle in between.

When you visualize clearly about something, I mean clearly about something, you will automatically cross check your visualization with the above mentioned design principles knowingly or not knowing. That is what helps your brain to transfer signals to hand and hand draws.
